1. Our Commitment

MindfulBytes is a K-5 digital wellness education program operated by the Center for Cybersecurity and Cyberpsychology Research, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are committed to making this website and our program materials accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Because our audience includes young students, educators, and families with a wide range of abilities and assistive technologies, accessibility is treated as part of the program's design, not as an afterthought.

2. Conformance Target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. Level AA is the standard most commonly referenced by education and public-sector accessibility requirements. We treat WCAG 2.1 Level AA as an ongoing target that we measure our work against, and we continue to improve toward full conformance.

3. Measures We Take

To support our accessibility commitment, we take the following measures:

• Using semantic HTML structure, including properly ordered headings and landmark regions, so screen readers can navigate pages predictably.
• Providing text alternatives for meaningful images and graphics.
• Choosing text and background color combinations that aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA contrast ratios.
• Supporting keyboard navigation, with visible focus indicators for interactive elements.
• Labeling form fields clearly and associating them with their inputs.
• Honoring the operating system's reduced-motion preference, so animated and decorative effects are minimized for visitors who request it.
• Designing pages to remain readable and usable when text is enlarged or viewed on small screens.
• Considering accessibility when creating curriculum and classroom materials, so educators can adapt them for diverse learners.
• Reviewing accessibility as part of our ongoing site updates.

4. Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content on this website may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known limitations can include older documents and downloadable files published before our current standards were adopted, embedded or third-party content that we do not control, and newly added material that has not yet completed accessibility review. We work to identify and remediate these gaps as we find them, and we prioritize issues reported by our users. If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, we want to hear about it.

5. Requesting Accommodations or Reporting an Issue

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this website, or if you need program materials in an alternative format, please contact us. When reporting an issue, it helps if you can tell us the page address, a description of the problem, and the browser and assistive technology you were using. We aim to acknowledge accessibility requests within five business days and to work with you on a resolution or a suitable alternative.
